I wanted to clear up why the ban request section is the way that it is now. By separating out perma ban requests from admins and perma ban requests from non admins it helps prioritize which threads to look at first. Logically as users are already banned in the admin request ones they will be reviewed first.

As for the temp ban section. This will make it easier to identify and punish those users who are tking blocking spamming ect when no admin is on. Note that ANY ADMIN can VOTE on these temp bans. Also once a decision is reached ANY ADMIN can issue the ban or warning and then close the thread. This makes it a lot faster an easier to deal with temp ban requests. Also it helps give normal level admins experience in reviewing cases in the forums in the hope that some day they can become an upper level admin if a position opens up. As for the length of the temp bans it is up to the admin that issues to determine what is acceptable just like if they were in game.

These new sections along with easy to use formats should make it much faster and easier to punish users breaking the rules with the aid of the source tv demos. This is also why a demo is ALWAYS required as we can then all know exactly what was going on.

Please post any comments or questions you have about this system below. Also note that I am slowly moving the old request threads into the appropriate sections. Eventually the old section will be completely empty.

maybe change the two non-admin sections' names to "USER temp ban request" and "USER perma ban request", and the section for admins to "ADMIN ban upgrade requests"

the old perma ban section was for posting bans. not requests. since the new section is not for that, the name should reflect it.

and then rolling it all under the ban request section to make it easier to find everything in one place?

yeah, that would probably help too.

as far as the format, it'd be better if you could make a form that is used for that section, that users enter the info in each box and it is then converted into a post. i can pm you an example if you'd like.

So far I do not see an option for anything like that...
