Salutations my good fellows.

I am in search of a new laptop that will primarily be used for gaming (WC3, CS:S, SC2, Killing Floor, Etc.) for around 600-700 dollars (Which I hope will drop down to about 500 dollars on Black Friday or Cyber Monday because that's my actual spending limit).

If anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate it. I have no knowledge of laptops, for all my experience comes from desktops.

Sony VAIO VPCF121FDi had mine last year for around 800.
i7 processor, 4 gb ram, my card is an nvidea 310 (there is one with a 330 dedicated one, which would be a better card , but more expensive)...

i had this laptop for a year, it is sooooooo quiet and purely amazing! crystal clear image, and i play css . gg wc3 etc at max quality .

it might not be ur safest best if u wanna play bf3, only bcos of the card, so if u had that and customized the vid card then u;re WINNING.

i hope u get it on a gd price, i got it on a student promotion for like -30 % :D

even a 330 is a shit graphics card
an a8 is slightly better then a laptop with a 540m, though its not all that powerfull, you will not get anything better at the price range specified

I mean to say it is a shittastic card

330 is not much better(though better then I expected), It is bested by the 5650 feature wise and power wise

The llano, that I was recommending with out anything added to it, It performs about the same as a 5650. It also offers MUCH better battery life (why I got mine as battery life on a laptop is crucial to me)

If you find a llano laptop with an card in there working along side the gpu part of the chip, it runs even better :)... well if the title is running in dx10 or 11

I apologize for saying it edges the 540m, when it does not such thing, I was remembering wrong.

Watch this website:

www.bfads.net

I check there every year and they do a great job getting in the leaked ads. They also do a laptop round-up where they juxtapose the laptops that will be available :wtg:

I already have my computer that I built from the ground up for hardcore gaming. But when I'm at the fire station I don't really have much else to do aside from run calls, cook, and work out in the gym. Because, you know, there's nothing on TV... Ever.

Would my best bet just be to grab a few links of good laptops and take a look at them on Cyber Monday?

Over the past couple of years, I've noticed that the "Cyber Monday" deals have really gone downhill. It seems like online retailers actually have been focusing on Black Friday to pull people away from the actual stores. Some online retailers like Amazon.com and Buy.com match almost every single doorbuster deal for all the big-box retailers and have it available HOURS before the stores open, with larger quantities in stock. Keep tabs on that website I linked before, and get online at around 10PM ET on thanksgiving to start watching for the deals to pop up online. Depending on the "location" of the online stores, they will a lot of times put up their deals at midnight their time.

However, it's my personal opinion that you won't see any "good" good laptop deals this year, because everybody is going to be focusing on tablets/e-readers/ and honestly game bundles (due to the MASS amount of holiday games this season)

Not sure what would be good for what I'm looking for though. Guess I'll do some browsing through these.

Edit: I'm not liking the graphics card on any of these.

What about this one? http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/builder.workflow:Enter?mtm-item=:000000F3:00004A2B:

I wish finding a laptop was as easy as building a computer.
