Only the global version of the S3 will have the quad core in the US, though still will be next gen "CPU's". Just like the One X. (LTE being the reason.)

Razr cant compare to the S3, S3 on Verizon will be dual core, not quad. Razr would be the much cheaper option, and still one hell of a phone.

I currently have a Spectrum and am very happy with it, rooted and alternate ROM of course, thing is stupid fast off stock, still waiting for ICS though, in due time, already on update list.

I just made the jump from the Motorola Droid to the Razr. Wowza. Fast phone, great options and android is outdoing themselves every day. That said, S3 is going to have a quad core, yes. Did you read the rest of the story? A quad core that uses 20% LESS power than the dual core currently in the S2. Honestly, if your update is in October, wait it out. But the S3 sounds like the clear cut winner right now. Who knows what'll hit in another 5 months though.

a comment on that 20% less power thing, i text all day on my s2, usually take/make 2 phone calls a day, browse the internet for various reasons, and play various games every day and i never go under 30% battery, just charging every night. 20% better is...it's preposterous. like hoooly shit could you ever run out of battery?

Do you stream videos? It'll kill the battery. I have to put my phone on the charger all day while I watch Netflix, or it dies after about 2 movies. :(

EDIT: Just read up some more on the S3, and it seems like Samsung is planning to release a Vanilla Android version of the phone! I AM PSYCHED!

If you want to look cool in these forums, get the Galaxy. If you want a phone that just works, gets updated regularly, and has a shitload of quality apps, get an iPhone. Then again, iPhone doesn't have widgets. Aw, widgets.

Will not have quad core. Read more on it. He is on Verizon, which means LTE, which means, Dual core version. ONLY the global one in the US will be a quad core.
