  1. Default Terrible Cold

Has anyone heard of "Vicks Vapor Rub" - rub on the feet and put a sock over and go to sleep method? Is this effective?
I have asthma/bronchitis, so when I have a cold, (beginning stages and when it grows within a day, its baddddd), but once it gets bad, I need real medical attention which symptoms can last me up to a month. I am looking for a way to control my beginning stages. Has anyone tried the Vicks Vapor Rub on the feet? Has it worked? Or any ideas?

I get really sick once a year, and only during winter, because we have that really warm winter, going to straight cold weather, and since I work outside with tires/tinting windows, I catch that cold, from working/sweating and reaching cold temps asap.

Is the Vapor-Rub a good source to help the cold? Or does anyone else in the medical division have a better advice?

I take a ton of that emergen-c stuff. All the vitamins help give you energy and fight off the cold. I used to get really sick until I started to do that. Last time I got a bad bacterial infection but did not know b/c I was taking so much that I barely had any symptoms. However after giving myself a perception of zpack I was still sick and having been a few weeks I new something was wrong. So I then went to the doc and got stronger stuff and finally killed it off with some stronger antibiotics. Interestingly the medicin was so strong I felt worse from taking that than being sick (well that was b/c I misunderstood and took it on an empty stomach).

Actually no, it gave me a cold sweat and I felt like I was going to pass out. My face was completely white luckily after class ended I grabbed some food, I also apologized and told the professor what I did b/c as I sit like 4ft from him and usually answer most of the questions in that class he was like wtf while I was sitting there sweating and looking like I was about to turn into a zombie at any moment rofl.

Was it Augmentin? Sounds like it..

Phil, the vapor rub amd socks helps to open you up. I suggest doing that, rubbing it on your chest, get a towel and dampen it and place it in the dryer or something just long enough to get warm and wrap it around your neck. Also, letting the bathroom steam up like a sauna And sitting in it with the vix and towel is good. I take mucinex for most respiratory infections and of course, lots of fluids and oj

Last time I got the flu I almost died... Had to go to the ER they drugged me hard core, and pumped me full of fluids.

    Lessons learned:
get the flu shot, eat lots of vitamin C, DRINK A SHIT TON OF FLUIDS, and don't smoke. I quit smoking after that. Silver linings my friends.

Also staying active when your symptoms aren't so bad helps a ton.

Vapor rub is your best friend to sleep. Also Suedoped PE.
