I am currently using a Rat 7 mouse with a similar configuration to what you described and I can definately recommend the G9 over it.
It is made for a small tight grip (and comes with two differently sized grips at that) and has a very solid mouse base for accurate movement.
I personally noticed a drop in my GG performance swithing to the Rat 7 so the G9 definately remains my favorite.
Oh yeah... and hello Ibis forums...
Yeah, I don't know if I anything really compares to your RAT/Transformer, you must get some sort of power bonus just by channeling through that. I doubt anything will beat the high tech beast you've been using, but I can't complain with the Logitech Nano's endurance. Going on 5 years, it responds just as good as it always has, being no worse for wear. Because of it's size, you wouldn't hold it in the cup of your hand like you would other mouses, and because of my long fingers I tend to play with it at the tips which can be a little weird for some people (that i've noticed). If I'm ever in the market to look for an upgrade, I know what I'll be saving up for.
Artist's Representation - "Finding life on the go board"
Ive used cheap generic ones my entire life, so after the like thousands of hours of vanilla wow back in the day... my wrist and hand got pretty damn tough and immune 2 pain.
will check them both out... see what feels best in the hand. LOVE the look of the RAT though might go for it just on that lol...
Maynard - The WCS Guy
That is one strange looking mouse. I'd definitely check out the G9, it's similarly shaped, and Logitech mice are built like tanks. Personally I can't NOT use a G5-style mouse, any other mouse cramps my hand. But, different people, different hands.
EDIT: Caveat - I don't throw my expensive gaming peripherals, ever.

Steel series sensei is my personal recommendation for claw grip style. I have used the razer imperator and logitech (mx revolution, g9, g500 ) and all broke in less than a years time from normal wear and tear and neither company would replace them even though it was faulty manufacturing. Steel series will replace my sensei if it breaks
i use a Mibru Nidhogg
