I guess I should install Guild Wars 1 before installing Guild Wars 2 ?

I never played gw1, and im doing absolutely fine. u dnt need it.

It's like telling people "you cant play skyrim without playing oblivion", it makes no sense.


Hell, the reason why gw2 is such an amazing game is that they maxxed the user-friendlyness, making u able to play gw2 without ever playing gw1... heck i never played any mmorppg before gw2 and im doing just fine

Each game is its own world and scenario, and im pretty sure everyone migrated to gw2 anyway.

In all fairness, Oblivion was and is a kick ass game and is definitely worth a play, especially with an enhanced gfx mod.
Though you are spot-on as far as the GW1/GW2 comment. There is absolutely no reason to play GW1 unless you really want to play to learn the story, but you can just find the timeline on a wiki somewhere. Start with GW2 as sighbear said.

and guild wars 1 sucks, it's not even a real MMORPG. the second you leave town there are no other players unless you form a party before you leave town... which is going against the main rule of a MMORPG... which is a live interactive world with people doing shit all over.

1- ur computer should run it... all ur specs are higher than mine, except that i have an i7.
and i run it at medium high, so u should be just fine, gw2 is not too exausting, resource-wise.

2- yeah... paypal sucks with that bs... god knows how many times i lost admin just bcos of that shit.

3- not that i know of, well at least , not at the moment.

4- when you do get the game, MAKE SURE YOU CHOSE THE "Gates of Madness" Server! or else you cannot join us in game, and u'd be in ur own little world alone.

5- If you're new to gw2, i highly recommend guardian (my fav by far) or warrior for easy leveling, elementalist and mesmer are very nice too but they are the hardest to level.
Thief is also fun too necromancer is hard at beginning, but gets op in time. I personally gave up on it tho lol... and no one cares about the engineer :\
I never tried ranger, but i heard it got nerfed... and sidekick animals dont appeal to me.
this is all a personal opinion, but i did try them all lol, almost.

actually, early game dagger necros are insane. axe and scepter not as much, but they have some range at least.

and engi is quite fun, but if you're like me and hate the turrets, you'll need to run with a group. otherwise, there's just not enough damage
