There are more people than last time, people are busy, if not busier, it is not surprising that things will take a while. The only way to ensure a quick pace, is to set a deadline, which some believe to be inherently sided, and also has the effect of not much conversation until closer to the deadline with pleas for more time as the deadline approaches. Once thats granted, usually not much more talking until the new deadline. Even then, the town usually just votes for who they were going to in the first place, what usually holds them off is that everyone wants to wait and see what, "develops", which is the main reason things take a long time. It is good not to rush things, but at a certain point, especially for day 1, there will not be any smoking gun found in the text, and if over 40 pages is not a good enough basis for comparison on day 2, then nothing is.
