My room mate bought a ps4 just to play it. (I'm happy because now I have something to play Bloodbourne on)
I watched him play it and it looks alright. First thing I thought of was a more polished border lands. Then I actually sat down to play it and it was meh. The game really didn't get me sucked in. All the lore kept referring me to their website which is stupid since they could have included a fucking codex in the actual game. I didn't have his head set on so I don't know if you can actually talk to other people but from what I read you can't talk to the people around you unless you're in a group but I don't know if that's true.
I only got to like level 5 but don't skill trees branch out? When I level, it seems like the game is telling me what to pick. I played a warlock so I was hoping to branch out from the get go but instead I was set on what seems to be a linear tree branch. It supposed to be a scifi with rpg elements but the rpg elements blow.
The Crucible has different fractions you can fight for and I got signed up for the vanguard via quest which pissed me off. There's like two others and I wanted to pick the evil one. I went over to them to join and I didn't see an option to do that.
Overall, I'm disappointed with it. To me it feels like a borderlands trying to be a mass effect but fails at both. (Like the Warlock is really just a Vanguard from Mass Effect) I'll be really surprised if this game survives past November.
