anyway, recently i've been feeling kinda..blah with the world. my metal and rock music haven't seemed quite as fulfilling as before. this is soewhat troubling as i listen to disturbed and nirvana and nicklebanc and evanescence and children of bodom to get through the day. however, i've found myself more and more in a mood to listen to some good old steely dan. here it goes:

A lot of the songs that these so-called "new" artists release are actually remixes of the 80's songs. For instance, Gwen Stefani redid Talk Talk's '84 hit "It's My Life." I was playing it at my family's home, and my sister walks in and says "Hey that's Gwen Stefani's song." I'm like ...
Other artists, such as Coldplay to name one, use some of the styles created in the 80's music era.
