I was under the impression that recruiting was not premissable... I do not even notice any ibis members recruiting for ibis clan... people naturally play, ingross, then join... like human nature to want to belong... I have (sigh) heard walter talk about other clans... usually he is drunk or drugged up (least you can tell when his moods change)... besides he and his slim crew of dedicated followers are constantly speaking of starting another server... I took it as idle chatter from less than motivated people... if they really wanted to have another server, they'd have more than just a steam page...

I do not play GG as much as I should... my human nautre draws my attention to WCS... but that does not mean I do not get asked to go into GG to deal with hackers, spammers, and genuinely dick head players... and that goes for ZM also... And even the short time I am there... the lag spikes seem to happen around knife fights, mostly towards the end of the fight... more seldom, but still occurring, this happens during a gun fight... and I don't mean the one shot to the head fights that kill you before even pull the trigger even though you had all the time in the world to debate that you reacted first, before actually reacting gun fights either... so I just chalked it up to playing too much on WCServer, which plays much differently...

Well maybe they should all pool the money they use to purchase admin on ibis and pay there and play there instead... problem solved... then they will be treated as common noobs when they come back and treated accordingly to how the behave, subject to kicks, bans and even removal from steam...

(It's actually more difficult to read paragraphs with ellipses in place of periods because you make the pauses longer in your mind--thus the reading goes more slowly.)

When I had one of my late night surprise rape sessions the other nights and pwned the server for 15min I did not notice any lag problems at all and the server was almost full. Are you sure you were getting 100fps and that your rates are properly configured for 100tick? Also are you sure there was not a lot of people with over 100ping on. One or two of these guys is fine but when there gets to be a few of them it can cause lag as everyone is waiting for them. This is seen in the headshot issue you stated, the person who killed you usually has lower ping than you do and thus gets the kill. When the players are shooting each other the server actually goes back and forth though time to determine where the players were and thus create a no latency environment that is always balanced toward low ping. In addition the engine takes into account order of shots but only does so after you finish shooting.

So for example:
You and other guy shoot eachother at the same exact time even when compensated for lag.
You both kill eachother with the first shot.
Who ever stops shooting first gets the kill
Kill will not be computed until both finish shooting (this part is where the lag you see occurs)


Also that is interesting what you say about Walter. What he is doing is not currently against the rules but is an exploitation of the spirit of them. I think I should update the rules to include the malicious spread of dissidence in order to rally support for a competing entity.

If anyone is in the server I'm on, usually GG, they will most definitely hear me say and type quite frequently and especially when someone asks about rules or joining or a multitude of other things, please go to IBISgaming.com, register for the forums, and voice your opinion, make an application, or just plain say HI on our boards.

So I consider that, actively recruiting, or as close to it as any that I have ever seen.

While I agree that if one does not see a tag on a player and the observer is a member of IBIS, they should make an effort to open a dialogue with that person to try to get them on board.

I have recruited WAY more than I'd care to remember for the guilds that I was either leader of or an officer of on EQ and WOW and while I'm not complaining, I don't see that happening with IBIS members and IMHO it should.

People have tried this before. LS and a few other clans broke off of IBIS and started their own community to rival IBIS. In the end everyone came back with their heads stuck up their ass. If he wants to be a limp dick cocksucker whos using the popularity of IBIS community to get some people for his server, then by all means go and prove what your loyalty is. By him doing this just proves what a total deuchebag he is.

I get a feeling that this thread is because it's Walter, and not because of any good reason.

There are frequently other people who come on our servers with other clan tags who come in and complain about the server. Complaining about the server is a regular occurrence and really has nothing to do with affiliations to a clan or community. I really think the main thing is that Walter has always been a vocal and somewhat controversial member of the IBIS community, and now people are grabbing hold of his newest controversy and holding on for dear life. Drama is pretty addicting, I'll give you guys that. But is it really that big of a deal? IBIS isn't going anywhere.
