I do not even notice any ibis members recruiting for ibis clan...

If anyone is in the server I'm on, usually GG, they will most definitely hear me say and type quite frequently and especially when someone asks about rules or joining or a multitude of other things, please go to IBISgaming.com, register for the forums, and voice your opinion, make an application, or just plain say HI on our boards.

So I consider that, actively recruiting, or as close to it as any that I have ever seen.

While I agree that if one does not see a tag on a player and the observer is a member of IBIS, they should make an effort to open a dialogue with that person to try to get them on board.

I have recruited WAY more than I'd care to remember for the guilds that I was either leader of or an officer of on EQ and WOW and while I'm not complaining, I don't see that happening with IBIS members and IMHO it should.

People have tried this before. LS and a few other clans broke off of IBIS and started their own community to rival IBIS. In the end everyone came back with their heads stuck up their ass. If he wants to be a limp dick cocksucker whos using the popularity of IBIS community to get some people for his server, then by all means go and prove what your loyalty is. By him doing this just proves what a total deuchebag he is.

I get a feeling that this thread is because it's Walter, and not because of any good reason.

There are frequently other people who come on our servers with other clan tags who come in and complain about the server. Complaining about the server is a regular occurrence and really has nothing to do with affiliations to a clan or community. I really think the main thing is that Walter has always been a vocal and somewhat controversial member of the IBIS community, and now people are grabbing hold of his newest controversy and holding on for dear life. Drama is pretty addicting, I'll give you guys that. But is it really that big of a deal? IBIS isn't going anywhere.

although technically, walter isn't either. ibis admins aren't those who pay 11$/month. they aren't the ones who have "admin powers" or "admin immunity". those are just side effects/related to being an ibis admin. ibis admins are those who try to keep order on the servers, through reporting people or taing direct action if able.

mag is essentialy an admin w/out actually having admin powers. he can call in any number of paying "powered" admins to deal w/ problems if they arise. walter, however, does NOTHING. the only times he's actually done his job and used his admin powers to help the ibis servers recently was when he was drunk. the one night we had horrible mic spammers on, he came in to bitch (like normal) and i and several others asked him to mute the spamers. he basically said "fuck no, why should i? i don't give a shit about these servers"

walter isn't an admin. he has the powers, but they do not actually mean anything if he doesn't enforce server rules and actually help the community.

I agree with most of what you said except for that part. Mag certainly is like an admin in his ability to call up people to take care of mic spammers, hackers, etc. Walter is like the woman who keeps coming back to the abusive husband (i.e. IBIS). Can't tear himself away...

he's like the opposite of me. i enforce the rules as if i was an admin, w/out the powers to do anything other than call in people that can. if no one's available, i do everything i can to enforce as if there was. In one case, this fucker was tking on pub. no admins were on steam (that i had in friends) and so the only think i could do was keep egging him on and trying to get him to attack me and not the other teamates. he killed me and i slayed. three more rounds of this and he got banned by console.

walter, however, would just do absolutely nothing to stop it...unless he was drunk of course.
