You won't be spraying to kill the zombies if you know what is good for you, so that is 10-30 shots in a single magazine, which when aimed right count as at least 15 kills.
A shotgun does not even carry ten (if I'm not mistaken), and the shells are not interchangeable between other types of firearms.
An MP5 with 9X19 parabellum would work with both an mp5 and glock 17 (as would a .40 and 10mm) and those are the two types of firearms I would carry. The ammunition and firearms are both very light, and would be much easier to carry around during action than a shotgun and a box of shells.
You're not getting my point. I was talking about what you actually have access to. Full auto permits are expensive, so I'm doubting most of the people on here have assault rifles and submachine guns.
And it's always much harder to aim when you're in a tight situation than when you're at a range. I bet most of the people here could hit a target 100% of the time with a full clip in a common rifle like a .22, provided they know how to use ironsights. I know I can, and I barely ever get to the range. But when you're in a panicked situation, you're not going to hit nearly as much. And if you read my original post, you'll see that I talk about the number of clips you have. You may have them loaded BEFORE you get into a fight, but in real life, you're clips don't automatically shove your reservoir ammo into themselves. And how many clips do you have for whatever guns you can access? I don't have more than 2 clips for any of the firearms I could access, and I know most of us certainly don't have supply humvees nearby to save our asses.
As for ammo interchangeability, if you happen to be using a .410 shotgun you could use both the .410 shells and .45acp rounds in a taurus judge if you happened to have one.
