Thread: New Computer

  1. Default New Computer

Today after a few weeks i have spent my chistmas money on a new machine.

    Specs:
    CPU:AMD Phenom ii x4 945(Deneb, 3.0Ghz)
    MB:Asus m4a78t-e
    Ram:A-Data 2 GB DDR3 1600.(single stick)
    HD:400GB
    GPU:Geforce GTS 240(pci-e x16)

Now heres the problem before even buying a 2 gig i would get another 2 gig later but figured out i don't have a 64 bit installation since the disk started missing.
I am trying to know would a 32-bit Win XP work on 64-bit Linux?

Lately i am going to be sending a bad psu back as it crashes too much but no big deal as i would need help because this is my 2nd build i have done.

PSU degrade over time every year it will loose about 15% of its power capacity
so if you had one for several years at 400 watts yeah you probably on got a good reading of 300 watts of good power. If it was a good cpu. and far as i know it doesnt matter what OS your using you should be able to use 64bit linux and a 32 bit xp in a dual boot setup (just remember 32 bit dont recognize more then 4 gigs). Just curious how much did you send on your build?

Capacitor degradation is not 15% a year, o.O its only 5% if that, better quality builds are even less
