counterstrike + windows 7 sound weirdness

never happened to me in steam.
only happens when im on skype. when in chat my volume of eveyrhting else drops. even if my sound for skype is muted.

When I logged on just now it showed that STeam had an update. When I looked at what it was updating, the main reason was so Windows 7 and Steam chat would stop the audio dip in game.

yup aparently that in the last update they did they fucked that up as well as everything eles. either that or they thought it was a good idea and they recieved a significant amount of complaints about it so they took it out.

Yea they thought oh we should take advantage of that windows feature that is enabled by default. Oh wait the only reason no one cares it is enabled by default is that nothing uses it now that something does everyone wants to turn it off...

It is almost as stupid as firefox removing rss button b/c people almost never press it. Yea you only need to press it once that does not mean it needs to be removed. I only press the power button once a day but that is the most important button on the computer

ummm, me and a couple others have been hotfixing the server whenever we join. the steam voice codec thing causes the fucked up sound...

just add the command to the server configs and your'e good
