Don't mean to start a political or religious debate but, if you are a conservative and/or christians, you will probably find Texas a nice place to call home, that is if you don't mind the summer heat.

That's not entirely true. Houston has a huge gay population. My battle buddies said they do drag nights there and they have so much fun. Depends on the area. However, if you believe that if anyone trespasses on your lawn, and you can shoot them, then Texas is for you.

What you said is also true, but if you drive north for about 20 minutes from Houston, you will find this town called The Woodlands. This town actually fits well into my description, (just describing it from what I see) about half of the population are well-to-do Christians. But its really a nice place to live for anyone, even an atheist like myself.
I go to Texas a lot
It has two good things going for it:
1) Cheap housing
2) AUSTIN .. austin kicks ass
But the bad side is that every time I go I have to pretend I give a shit about baseball or college football
Minnesota wins all, within the next month you might get to loot and riot when our goverment shuts down!
