I never use chat anyway I leave mine in Offline mode. Facebook is my homepage so I want to go to google for example... Someone sees me online and starts a conversation. I don't want to ignore them, but now I'm stuck in discussion that I didn't ask for. From what I've seen I can't hide it so in my opinion it blows.
I possess far too much awesome for the preceding comment to be incorrect in any way.

my only problem with it (other than the normal, "they changed it without giving us a choice" that pisses me off so much (looking at you google)) is that it appears each time i go on fb. it pisses me off to have to minimize it each time
