Help & Suggestions - Building a PC

Fail, the list is basically based off nothing more than the creators fav brands and not the actual cost/performance/reliability ratio.

First what it the primary purpose of the computer? Do you have existing systems you would like/be able to scrap for parts. If so what is the specs of those systems? Do you only need the system or do you need an OS and monitor ect as well?

No existing system. Everything is going to be new.

The PC will be used for word processing (and other doc types), video/photo editing, web browsing and heavy gaming (latest graphics/intensive).

I was only going to ask for help with the system but I wouldn't mind suggestions for monitor and other peripherals like keyboard and mouse. OS will be Windows.
