I get this when trying to join any server now and the console also gives this


ConVarRef sb_dontshow_maxplayer_warning doesn't point to an existing ConVar

and "Server not responding"

Well atleast this will keep people on there toes if they try and pull another update like this on us, that's about the one good thing I can say about it.

When I had updated from 1.5 to 1.6 and getting steam... the only solution is to reinstall the game. The errors should be gone by then. I don't have any errors since I recently re-downloaded the game which then came with the upgrades.

validate your filoes. seems like the paths got messed up somewhere.

delete the clientregistry.blob file in your cstrike folder. that should be the first thing people do after trying to exit/restart steam. this goes back to pre-update.
