I hate to lay down the law, but you banned this player the other day for 'hacking' because he was flying around. This is the second time this has happened in about 2 weeks, and it needs to stop. You, along with the other new admins need to unbind your noclip, unbind your permaban keys, and start using the other functions of your admin before you don't even get a chance to.

Freeze, mute, kick. Anything else without good cause and/or proof is likely to get most of you in trouble at this point. You may have been trying to keep the server clean, so I'll give you credit for trying.

You know who you guys are, and you should know what is right and acceptable. I shouldn't need to explain it, since it is your responsibility. Come on guys.

And if you don't know what should be done, get me or a more experienced admin, we don't mind.

The ONLY admin commands you should have bound are All Talk and No Block.

well seeing as in that match i never used noclip, as soon as someone told me about the dark_ghost i went into spec saw that he was hacking and banned him, also i think that is the first time ive ever banned someone.

the only thing i have bound now is ztele and admin, once people said dont use noclip i stopped

This thread was not meant to contain flame, but to bring awareness of what is going on.

The console log shows that the person with that Steam ID used the noclip command. That is an exact copy from the admin logs.

However, Dark is not to blame for this thread, it is a multitude of admins who have been contributing to the problem.

Yea dark did run the command as seen in the logs this is fact. The next command he ran was one to put himself into spec.

i think that i am of a pretty opposite mindset than some, from what i've read about the practice of binding certain admin commands to keys. like banning, or kicking.

i couldn't imagine going straight to a ban, or even a kick, or a slay, without very good reason and provocation. i'm not in much of a position to contribute to this discussion, but let it be said that those should always be the last resort..not the first, by any means.

i hope that the situation of admin abuse, in this case, and in general, gets remedied. i am grateful to be allowed the opportunity to contribute to a better gaming experience. thanks guys.

I find admin is really given out too easily in IBIS. Sure it brings in a good cash flow, but whats cash gonna do for you when no one wants to play on the servers?
By screening admins, maybe putting an age limit so the levels of maturity hopefully rise, you can still have a decent sized admin population, but also retain the joy of playing on the servers. No new admin now adays cares what it really means to be an admin.

I agree in a way.

I can't wait for Zero to implement the new Admin system. This will help out the server more and more. This is another reason why I am waiting for the new system to come out. These admins now a days are just incompetent. Not all but most.

i notice alot of new admins latley....

almost an obnoxious amount, varying from "who the fuck are you" to "arnt you like a admin dnio" to ones even (i wont mention names) pming me about specific situations and how they should specifically act accordingly.

tbh, a cautious admin, is a smart admin who has potential.. because he is already willing to learn.
thus threw learning he will no longer hesitate and commit the appropriate action accordingly.

but when it come to taz.. well i think he has threw his time, exusted his trust and privileges. i dont say this because i knew from the start but because he really has, looking back up until now... i seriously think it is time (all self grudges aside) that he has full admin taken away, he is beyond Hallwagner and alot of ZM regulars seem to be upset. it takes alot for a WHOLE server of 30 some people to start gossiping about one specific person (Taz) and how he is more then a blight to the servers.
