i did some reading and it seems that one of the most common reasons for the lag and errors is because there has yet to be a server update for 1.2_02

i will continue to search for explanations as to why the server is so fucking buggy since the last day

For the record, there is a north arrow at spawn, so when discussing where you are, please use those points of origin to describe your orientation.

i will attempt to work on lag issues when i have time... but for what i have told most people bukkit isnt officially done and more a less a Beta version of it.......
So for those who constantly message me and ask whats with the Lag along with many other questions. I dont know.... but i will do my best to find out the issues, this is why i also never seem to play cause either im answering questions or trying to find ways to fix or improve the server.

Ok, well the issue is weird now. I don't think it's bukkit because around midday, everything was running smooth. We would get intermittent lag spikes but those would last a max of 5 seconds (mostly 1 second). Then around 2:30pm (central) everything started to freeze up and we started to get the horrid lag we had last night (10-20 seconds). But for now, that's all the info I have. It seems like the evening/late night times are the laggiest.

I am fine and will bear for it with the next couple of days for testing purpose to try to help resolve the problem. Hopefully we can nail this on the head and see what's really up. :)

it is not, it's just a lot harder w/out them.

example: when i tested out dumping seeds into water before, they were not destroyed. turns out that that was because of bukkit...so when i harvested my wheat crop after bukkit was gone, all the seeds were destroyed. it sucks, but at least bonemeal lets us farm shit easier.

the mods from bukkit make the game easier/better, but until they don't fuck the server over they need to go

It came with the High-Res pack. Other than that I have done nothing extra. I thought it was default. o_O

It tells night and day and top surface is color coded per item. Also shows light source and distance.

my HD ones look better tbo , i installed them, using up to 256x256 block tile colors, and the graphics are just astounding, better than my counter strike source!!! and no, they arent dark, on the contrary, its the pics that they posted that are maybe dark?... and they;re super nice. just my opinion!

yeah...i don't go into the mines...ever. david is only one that knows the way around. i have no fucking clue how. the best part is though, we didn't "tunnel" much of that at all. other than the main room and a few regions near it, all of the "mine" was natural caves. it's one huge complex

Usually when people ask where you got it, you give a source. Not just "he said". The way you put it, it's like you talk to him on the phone and he told you personally.

This is what you said. You mentioned nothing about cyber in the post. The problem is that what ever our server is running on is down currently. Whether it's the machine or the host we don't know. OK to try and explain to everyone what bukkit mod is... is a program that rewrites minecraft source code and adds ability to make mods work..... then most of the mods you suggest work off bukkit..... so when you say theres other mods yes, But most dont work independently by them selfs and usually you cant add more mods to a something already unless you have a plugin mod like Bukkit.

I do apologize for what some may think that things are a slow pace. But again until I get a better job and not having to work shitty 70 hours every week and my only full day is Sunday. My time becomes very limited....

I went ahead and took the time to fix the Ibis sign, as well as the wheat farm area by re-adding the glass that was originally there. I didn't have the sand to finish it off though so, it looks weird.

The response people will give to this is "but we shouldn't have to". Yea and in this world everything is free for a price. It's never going to happen that way. Take the precaution to make your place fool proof and build some type of mechanism to keep people out or away from your place. If it looks easy to grief, then no doubt someone along the line that logs in randomly like Luke(something) and decides to grief the easy stuff. This is why I was always against building these elaborate CASTLES/HOUSES above ground. It's just inviting people to blow it up. Plus it's hard enough to maintain.

Use youtube to your advantage and build traps, locks, and everything to prevent people from getting in. Learn how stupid people think and build a counter to it. Build a bridge to your castle? Make a lava moat? There are lots of solutions. Figure one out. If you build it big, expect it to break big if it is to be tampered with. Don't expect to build something big and it stat intact big forever. Maintenance is part of the game. Without it, everyone would have quit minecraft by now.

At any rate, the newbies need to understand, we paid for this fucking game to play it how we want. If I want to build a monument dedicated to my dead fucking dog and build it out of diamond, gold, iron, and obsidian, by fuck I want to build it knowing someone isn't going to steal it or fuck it up.
