It is to keep things organized and maintain order. Places where you start to have multiple languages you build walls of information. There are so many times when I have been searching for something on the internet only to find the solution in another language on an American website. The jargon can not be translated back to English and so the information remains exclusive for those in that thread at that time.

By having everything in the most commonly used language in the world it makes it easier for this information to then be translated into one that a non English reader can understand.

It is important to note that there is no "rule" about English. If someone has bad English they should try to post in English and in their language so that someone on the forums can act as a translator if Google is not cutting it.
