Too many times do I find myself speaking to players as if they're three, five, seven year old's running around the kitchen getting ready for a day of school:
"Where are your shoes? Did you pack your homework for math? No put that pan down, it's hot! Stop teasing your little brother! *Kid runs up crying* What happened now?!"
vs.
"Where did you shoot the soda machine to? Did you remember to ask before breaking his cade to get in? No, don't cadebreak when a zombie is right behind you! Stop calling that player X the n-word! *Kid runs up crying* OMG STFU KIDS!"
This is ZMod, or as some refer to it, the ghetto of IBIS City. No one (with the average K-12 education) wants to go here, and rolls up their windows if they happen to pass through. This is because there is no cohesion, cooperation, or communication among players.
It's time to get education into the ghetto! Instead of working against one another, develop skills that will help you survive as a group rather than costing more time by destroying and having to rebuild things. Here are some tips that I'd hope players could strive for to better improve their game-play.
1) Read and have a basic grasp of the rules. This means reading ZMOD Rules, Illegal Cade Spots, and Server Rules.
2) Pay attention to others and show respect. If someone is building a cade, ASK to come in rather than shooting down the bookcase and two soda machines that will take twice as long to set-back-up. Wait a little if you see someone running toward your cade before closing it up. Allow the FIRST PERSON to setup the cade; shooting objects in a random jumble produces a shit cade that can easily be taken apart. And lastly, RESPECT THE RULES, they challenge the game and balance it for both humans and zombies to enjoy.
3) Watch and learn. If you don't know how to make a cade, get out of their way and take notes for next time you're in that situation. Don't get up in their face trying to help if you yourself have no idea what the final cade is going to be.
4) Look out for zombies and back up your teammates. If you're running on escape maps, or covering a comrade as he makes a cade, you should be looking and shooting zombies. ACCURATELY keep them at bay and buy time for your teammates to get to a checkpoint/finish a cade rather than waiting for either process to be done.
5) Have fun with it. If you cade a crouch spot (illegal by the way), the zombie is not able to break through, ever. So you get the "fun" of sitting in a room, alone, doing nothing for 2-5 minutes. Is that fun for you? I'd much rather put in time for a better cade that needs to be monitored (but gives you kills), or get a group of people watching an opening and shooting zombies back. The thrill is in the near death experiences, through which you show your skill.
These are only tips, and may not apply to everyone. For me, they make the game enjoyable and worth coming back to. Don't be mindless drones; show your skill or learn to be more skillful.
