Thread: Final thoughts before buying gaming pc?

  1. Default Final thoughts before buying gaming pc?

I really don't feel like building my own shit right now because of how busy I am right now... and the fact that I'm CYBER and would most likely fuck something up lol...

so im buying this straight from the CyberPower PCs website...

YEAH or NAY? and if you rly wanna help, HERE is the website link for this model... I want to customize the best I can get under 1750$ (bcos my budget is 2k CAN $ with tax...), so feel free to tell me what i can sub for better performance...
PS: about 40$ of it is just flashy neon shit bcos well... I want a flashy pc but I think this is a good build ... no?

Considering my current pc is fucked up and runs CSS at 80fps average, i want smthn that can run latest games at at least > medium quality

Other than getting your asshole reamed hard on the price, this PC looks great. I could probably build it for $1,200-1,300 though, maybe less if we sniped some amazing sales. The GTX 770 is sexy from the benchmarks I've seen.

you could getaway with a smaller socket CPU and get a 4th gen. Shaving price off your CPU and mobo.

-replace cooler master tower for gigabyte chassis (save $)
-either downgrade from 2tb and get 250gb SSD or keep 2tb and get an extra 250gb SSD (space for security)
-scratch one of the 8gb memory cards (32gb... will you ever actually need that?)
-figure out how to get at least one usb 3.0 slot (3.0 will soon be the new standard)
-replace win7 home for win7ult (win7 home is kuk)
-downgrade 800watt PSU to 700watt PSU and upgrade on-board audio to at a minimum 5.1 sound card (what are you using that utilizes 7.1?)

jesus, beyond horrible on the price. you're overpaying out the ass.

I don't know where you live but your local pc shop could probably do far better on the price and then you'd have local help should trouble arise. If you happen to be near a microcenter I would highly suggest just going through them. If you're polite to the sales associates they will often show you which parts have the best rebates and get you a killer deal. I ended up buying all my parts from them for around $1,400 total cost with $680 in rebates bringing my final total to $720. Also if you go through them and get the 2 year protection plan near the end you can bring all your parts in and swap them out for new ones. No joke.

i dont know why people are so afraid of building a pc? Its like having sex. You can only put your stuff in one or two holes and if the bitch doesn't like it she'll let you know, But its always satisfying at the end.

Bro, for that kinda cash ill build u a better PC and just keep the side moneys , no really bro unless u are going to be doing 3D graphic design or running 50+ tools at the same time u will never need 32G of ram, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231460 this is way better and it is 9/10/9/28 timing and it is also shielded to help keep the PC cooler. and as far as your Vid card, I dont know how much u are paying for it but http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130910 this is going to be overall a way better video card for only 180$ and its video hookups are 4theWin and it also has preoverclocking on it so you do not really need to push your core more then needed. Also if you are fearful of building the PC your self dont be, It really is not hard at all, Oh and keep in mind when you do a system setup to config all settings to gaming if you are going to use windos 8 as this will help run the Gfx card more efficiently.

Atrocious writing skills aside, did you really just compare a GTX 770 to a GTX 650 Ti? Holy shit. I feel like I'm wasting my time, but as I currently have time to waste, I'll take this point by point.

Read that link, lolno. The 650 and 770 don't even compare (how could you possibly think they do?!).

Both cards have the exact same ports...

This doesn't make any sense, and sounds a lot like someone trying to sound intelligent about a topic they know nothing about.

Besides the fact that Windows 8 is terrible, his build specifically lists Windows 7.

Now, to Cyber, I'm going to assume you simply don't want to build your own (as that's what you said), and that you know full well that building your own will save you ~$200 USD, which you are giving up for the convenience of someone else doing it. My suggestions would be to drop the RAM down to 16GB (2x8GB, so that it is easy to upgrade in the future should it be needed), and strongly consider finding a way to fit a 256GB SSD in your build/budget. Upgrading to an SSD was one of the biggest quality-of-life improvements I've made to my PC since I originally built it. It really does make a huge difference. All that top-end hardware doesn't mean anything if your HDD is bottlenecking.

Oh, and most importantly, get a high-quality name brand power supply. You can easily drop to a 600W or 700W PSU with a single-GPU setup. Don't cheap out on the power supply. It is the most important component in a system. If it goes bad, your entire computer can be destroyed in an instant.

    Fucking Canadian Taxes man...

I just got my computer via ups...
and between the brokerage and taxes => C.O.D was fucking 400 fucking Dollars! ... not to mention the 85usd shipping fees i already paid...

ANDDDDD this is the "cool story" of how I ended up paying 2375$ on a computer I could have built myself (except the tricky liquid cooling) for 1200$ ,,,

    Fucking Mexico... I mean...
    Fucking Canada...
