We're Lebanese and raised in the French district of Canada... At home we speak arabic mostly. He does understand English and speaks it quite well, but he's more comfortable in French. He's still at the age in school where they focus mostly on French and English is only taught as a course and extra curriculum. But I don't mind that system. in 2 years time he'd know 3 languages fluently.

You realize that class room language lessons are the worst way to learn a language. Anyone can learn and be relatively fluent in a language in a mere 2 weeks.
