About Security (I am not planning a DDoS anytime soon)
What I'm trying to make clear is that even a program that looks secure might still do harm to your computer one way or another (One version had a memory leak, so I had to restart my computer to avoid windows from corrupting my files). It's ment to be a warning; I can't asure you that 1) you'll receive whatever I intended to send/tested, and mostly 2) The program does for you what it does for me. I have read multiple stories of big companies getting infected because someone used a untrusted compiler. If you take a look at the code you will notice I can acturely get your IP, but because I didn't get my licence yet, I better warn about the possible risks. This isn't a product like WinRAR, but a uncomplete sample you can check out if you want. If my purposes was to obtain your IP for a DDoS attack, I at least warned I could do something like that. Same goes for infecting your computer: If you place the program in your Windows folder, I can't be responsible for any damage to your system. I could of course just get a copy of the CC Licence, but because this is just a sample, I better have some fun making my own 'license'.
About the Discussion (Thread)
If this was a finished product, I wouldn't even post it here. But I posted it here to create a discusion, and to be honest the goal wasn't to discuss the security, but the use: Is anyone else interested in a free open source archiver? As you might already have read, everything I write is written there for a reason, however useless it might seem. If I were to acturely post a formal version, it would probably take me about 2-3 hours longer. Because I do this mostly for fun, I better make the best of it.
If anyone cares, everything before the download link and after the second "Why?" is pretty much total BS, besides from the fact that I do want to warn you about the security risk, without the effort of creating a license. (I'll color code the BS). At this stage, the only thing that matters to me is that I gotta have fun. When the program is done/useful in some way, I'll update the post to a more formal version.
