There is really nothing else you can learn from an open game aside from the basic function of the game, something that almost everyone who is going to play this game already knows quite well. I don't understand the "learning game for noobs" when we never seem to have any. An open game is good to get your feet wet, but most of us are already soaking. If we can get 4-5 new players, then great, quick run through with an open game, then back to something fun, if not though, I just dont see the point.
I hit Brett right in the feels.
Open setup is when you know the roles handed out beforehand. Closed you do not.
Open is easier for newer players because you know which roles are in the game and that you can counter-claim someone with more reliability than in a closed setup, where there could easily be two of you with the same role and no one would be the wiser. Closed setup is easier for the mafia because it gives them more wiggle room when it comes to claiming. You can get away with a lot more bullshit in closed than not.
The poll closed, but I'm in if there is room.

Also, I'm hedging and voting for semi open. These tend to be more balanced, allow for some lying and misdirection, yet are simple enough for newer people(and Cyber, who I'll get ahold of tonight) to not get lost.

Cool. I'm not sure why the poll closed.
you probably set an expiration date accidentally.
I'll join, and when I get wagonned/lynched/killed 5 minutes in, I can rotate to help you co-mod during your down time objectively (since I really couldn't care less about the game itself anymore). That's assuming you needed an extra hand. I'm sure you got this, but i'm offering nway bud.
