Rice and Chicken Permanently banned for Wall Hacking

Hey man, I got no problem admitting it. If ppl feel the need to ban me for something I did about 2 years ago then so be it. I just thought I would be honest. I enjoy playing for the sake of playing now, no matter how shitty my score.

As far as what I said about not banning ppl who admit they hack. That's just if I ran my own server. I know the rules here and if I suspect someone of hacking I'll keep my eye on them and pass some info on, but I'm not the kind of guy to ban someone. I'd rather someone else do it. Mostly because I don't trust me own final judgement. Some people are just badass players.

I received word from hallwagner (yes him) that Rice and Chicken has been banned from VA gg server for wallhacking as well. I'm also going to put a link to the perma ban on him from pub before the update once I find it.

Here’s my 2 cents:
1. I think Rico makes a good point. We cannot afford to go easy on hacking. If we start allowing hacking on our server to go openly unpunished then we’ll lose the reputation this server has created over the years of being a fun server with good talent.

2. I’ve played with Rice now for a while and never took much notice if he was hacking or not. If he was, he was always sly enough to not draw my outright attention to it. When I first heard he was being accused of hacking I was skeptical as I’ve had a LONG history of playing this game getting ban’d from many a server over the years for “alleged” hacking, ALL while being completely legit. I’ve never once used ANY type of hack or cheat; I’ve always just taken it as a complement of my skill. I’ve found that some people get jealous if you continually own them. I still have ZERO aim, but my only hack is 10 years of Counter Strike experience and a brain that was able to master biostatistics. But, when I started to hear server veterans like Rico and Dice talking about that he’s hacking it made me pay more attention.

3. Rice is a difficult case. Most of the hackers that come on the server are random players. They don’t stick around, they don’t establish friendships. On top of that, Rice is a top-notch talent w/o hacks…which makes spotting hacks all that more tough. He’s got a TON of hours/weeks/years invested into playing this game. What I noticed was that he wasn’t hacking ALL the time, but mostly when he thought someone else was hacking. This, in no way excuses him from hacking, as Rico’s point is solid, but all this together does sort of put him in a different type of hacker. I think he’s a hacker that legitimately enjoys playing on this server.

4. I’ve heard from another respected admin on this server (not Pollo) that he’s upset that Rice is being accused of hacking and that he’s thinking of quitting IBIS all together over this issue. I think that may be a little over-dramatic, but I do recognize what this means. It means that Rice was able to establish some strong friendships on this server. I personally thought he could be a lot of fun to play with from time to time, but every once in a while he’d get in some antagonistic mode and just try to piss everyone off, e.g.) camping spawn as a T on de_maps, or block teammates to try to get them killed so he could steal their awp. Overall, he’s succeeded in pissing off too many people and got the server to turn against him.

5. Perma baning him may not be the best option on the table at this point. It appears he’s been perma ban’d before. From what I hear, it’s not too difficult to download a new steam ID. He’ll probably just end up coming back and become an even bigger asshole as he’ll now have an ax to grind. I think there's a SMARTER option. That is, if we can teach him that he really doesn’t want to hack regardless if a few do from time to time…but instead helps us to find those fucktards so that we can ban them, then he just might turn out to be an asset for this server. In the end, he’s just a teenage douche bag, but with potential to be a cool guy and a great addition for this server.

So, my recommendation is this. I think we need to take Rico’s point and ban him, but only temporarily, maybe a week or two. Give him some time to think about it. Give him some time to go play on other servers and maybe find one he prefers or maybe he’ll discover that good FF/On servers are a rare thing. But, give him one more chance to come back and join our community. But, if he comes back early or even starts a whisper of hacking then the name Rice and Chicken goes on an auto-perma ban w/o the need for any further evidence.

I completely disagree with that. If he was a "top notch talent" he wouldn't be hacking to begin with.

He's demonstrated that he could give two shits about the ibis community. He doesn't deserve be playing here.

If he gets a new ID and comes back he'll be caught again and banned.

I'm dissapointed, baltimore, that you would suggest anything other than a zero
tolerance policy towards hacking. He won't change and nothing you do or say will change him. That, I can gaurantee.

He wasn't just hacking when he thought someone else was, as you would claim. He was doing it ALL the time, unless he felt he was being watched or recorded.



Also, who give a flying fuck that he made friendships here. He was caught hacking and needs to be banned. If his friends are that upset then they can go find another server with him for all I care.

agreed with rico. there should be a no tol on hacking... if you're lame enough to go get them and use them on servers you usually play on, then you deserve a perma with no questions asked... and rice ROFL@YOU! i was working my own demos on you aswell, and i love that i had a convo with dfleet about specing you the other day, to which he says blah blah he's played here forever, he doesnt hack noob... how do people not understand that this is the damn internet... people you think you know on a game can easily deceive you in any way, just because he's "played here forever" doesnt mean he can't still be hacking....

rice has been so obvious with it it's retarded... he'll go off on a bogus walling spree, then start running around acting like an idiot and make sure he dies to someone he easily sees thru the walls, to get people off his trail... so stupid...

yea, it doesn't matter how long rice has played or how many friends he has....the point is, he cheats. ricochet made a good call with the perma ban and rice should not have a second chance. if we were to let him get away with it we might as well just invite hackers into the server. being an admin is a job, and sometimes it may require banning a friend or a regular, but it has to be done if they're cheating.

I was going to come here and defend him, then I did some googling and saw how many other servers he has been banned from for walling, and then I saw that he had already been banned from this server last year. I like the guy but the evidence against him is too strong to ignore.
