    that actually looks pretty neat.

Though i would have to test with it before implementing.

update: im planning on building a server that can host two MC servers. The actual world server and a test server. With a 50 down 10 up internet service and 16GB of ram, we should be able to handle mods and a decent player base for starting out. I will be looking into 4 slot server M/B's so that if in the future i decide to upgrade it wont hurt my pockets as much.

I love the extra options this one has though. We are making a 3rd testing server right now and will be running MC Server Soft on it. I'll post updates asap as well.
What mods were you wanting to install? Just link one or two so we have something to test with.

Ill want an economy system, if you could test different variants of this along with bukkit. Throw in this zeplinn mod for testing as well, it would make an awesome form of long and safe distance travel and even open up some interesting doors for world PVP.

Okay, after screwing around with MC Server Soft, I found it to be a pain in my ass lol.
    Pros:
    Good GUI
    Updated Regularly
    Builds right into CraftBukkit

    Cons:
Most custom settings do not work as of now. (I will be interested in it in the future though when that works.)
    ONLY works with CraftBukkit
    No server backup/restore

Now, what I recommend for the time being is McMyAdmin. http://mcmyadmin.com/
It works well with all addon brands, not just CraftBukkit, VERY easy to use because of it's simple GUI. Also you can set backups and restores which I'm sure will help with our griefer problems.

You can try out and test with the unpaid version no problem, and just pay the 10 pounds when you want more then 8 people in the server.

I'll start poking around for economy mods now. You looking for money exchange or block exchange? Like you have a cash wallet and you can buy and trade? or blocks are the money?

cash system would be nice but i like the idea of players needing to work for there wealth. lets go with cash, buying selling blocks ect.

I couldn't find the right video I wanted but basically what it is is that you can create and kind of vehicle you want then you put a "control block" in it. Which is a special new item made at the workbench. When you place the control block in your creation, it senses the size and what is part of your creation and allows you to move it. Not sure if it was in this video but you can make elevators and lifts. Just imagine a battleship with functional cannons or an aircraft carrier with actual mother fucking fighters.

keeeping up with server and mods and stuff is not as easy as it looks.... you all know i started running a server for a while and RL stuff happens and shit gets to busy (from grandfather dieing to moving so many times and shit)to keep up with So I passed it on to rezel and others it lasted for a while but getting a server to stick and stay active can be alot of work specially for minecraft if you cant dedicate the hours.

But good luck mikey. If you need advice let me know but im not going to try to do all that mess again

Yes, i am aware that it is perceived as not being easy. Me currently being in an environment where RL shit can happen at any given moment i have learned to progressively plan. Im also aware that the largest contributor to our past servers not working was because they were hosted and a steady income was not maintained. Seeing as how id like my server to benefit me in the long run, i can not give up so easily. Having 1 or two other people who will be allowed access to my hosted server, will greatly help with server maintenance if i am away. i have 30 days of leave when i return home in the summer time, it being summer time im betting on a few dedicated individuals who have some spare time are willing to help.

The only question i have for you at the moment is regarding a Server Build for minecraft. Any hardware suggestions for something dedicated to a 50+ slot server?
for 50 players what should i look for in regards to Down/Up?
