Hey, I'm not just barging in here and tossing my hat in the ring without having put some thought into this; I've looked through the other app submissions for clan, read the feedback, seen the different comments and recommendations which keep showing up again and again as reasons to be excluded from clan membership, such as
  • be more active on the forum
  • play on more servers
  • get to know people, ie. the regulars, the admins, the clan
  • follow the rules of admin as laid out by Zero
  • use your admin powers responsibly
  • respect other admins
  • respect other clan members
  • settle permban, map add/deletion, server update disputes with the clan
  • be a member of the community for a long time
  • help the community and servers be better on a regular (daily) basis

and most of those things I have already done. And on top of that, I have the bonus of having experience with keeping the back-end of the server running, since I've played with running my own CSS (ZMod) server before, and have run servers in my spare time. Not all applicants can claim that, and most are more concerned with conveying that they enjoy playing guitar and are in the army (Mikey), what video games they play (emTr0), and what the horsepower of their cars they've owned has been (Tragedy) than give reason that they should be given the keys to the server (RCON) and clan responsibilities.

And I already know what you referring to, maynard, since you spelled out the biggest and most important requisite of being in clan to you in Mikey's app,

.. but look -- I love the servers. I love the people in the servers. I love playing on the servers, and I want to give back to the community. Thats why I keep buying admin from time to time, and thats why I don't skip off to another bunch of servers run by other clans. I've skipped studying for tests because sometimes I just have a CSS itch that can't be scratched without people like

So hey, I'm not oblivious at all, maynard. I know why I want clan, and who to thank for making me want clan. But like I said before, if those other things I've listed above which actually matter aren't enough for clan, and if getting in all comes down to some circle-jerk popularity contest, and you guys think I just don't care about the community enough or you don't like me for whatever bullshit reason -- even though I find myself coming back for more and giving back as much as I get -- then fuck it, I don't want anything to do with clan. But it's not me that is oblivious, it's you. I know why I'm here. And I'm not going away.
