[Nemesis]

Rules:
1.Your Mods are Nemesis and Blade. Their word is God. All actions are to be sent to both Mods.

2. Do not edit/delete previous posts. Whatever you say goes into historical record.

3. Do not quote any PM's you receive from the moderator or another player. You may say your name, role, associated abilities. This is a serious offense and will earn you a mod-kill, and/or a blacklist from future games.

4. The game will not be discussed outside this thread, unless your role specifically says you can.

5. All ‘votes’ and ‘unvotes’ must be in coloured. If they are not, they will not be tallied. You must first unvote and then vote to change your vote from someone.

6. Lynching requires a majority of the town vote, once the majority has been reached any unvotes will not be counted. The majority is half the player's alive +1.

7. You may vote ‘no lynch’ to end the day without a death.

8. Night usually lasts from 24 hours or until all actions are in.

9. Once your death scene has been posted, it's over for you. You can no longer post anything related to the game. Whining is alright, **Voices from beyond the grave** are alright, as long as nothing of substance is revealed. This means you can post something like "Damn you mafia!" or "Oh well. Go town!" but you cannot post and add to the discussion. This is a serious offense.

10. Be attentive and active in the game. You will be replaced if you don't post. If something prevents you to participate for a long period of time, announce it here or via PM. Help everyone's enjoyment of the game by being active and sending your actions promptly.

11. If you have any questions or doubts, send a private message to either of us and ask for help. It would be much worse to remain unsure about your role, mafia rules, whatever than to ask the moderator and then understand.

12. This is a role-playing game and I fully expect you to play your role. Have fun to everyone.

Btw. I do have a piece of info about day 1 that can be used to lynch someone... but it's not a safe bet... only an observation that i noticed while modding a few games and watching the other threads.

Most mods organize their roles in the following way when creating the roles... at least i have :
Mafia members -> 3rd party -> townies.

And so when the mod is writing the flavor text and sending it player by player, i noticed that in almost every game we played, that the mafia receive their flavor pm before others because it takes time to send each msg individually while following format and making sure no mistakes are down.


With that assumption, we can say that maybe Blackmage and Shadow are mafia members...
Normally in some mod games, mafia members tend to be the last ones to vote because some mods allow the mafia to talk before day 1 starts as if they are part of night 0 in order to synchronize their plans before day 1 starts.
So in some games, people tend to observe who is delaying the start of day 1 since they are likely to be mafia.
As far as i've seen in our ibis games, mafia members talk only after day 1 ends, so there is no reason for them to hold up the confirmations.

With that logic, it leads me to think that the first to actually confirm the thread are the mafia members who happen to have received their pm first.

In tom's game: that was me and brett if im not mistaken (i wont fucking look at all the threads, but this is what i remember), in the pokemon one, blackmage and scribble were the first to confirm etc...

So what do you guys think? do you think it's worth the risk to lynch Blackmage or shadow assuming that they are likely to have received their pm first and confirmed before others got their pm? and therefore likely to be mafia members? or even a third party?

Again.. it's not foolproof... but it's the best info i can think of for day 1.

Well, I'm not quitting till the game's officially declared over. Last night does go to show a few things.

First, Blade, there haven't been even 10 mafia games on this site. Giving up on people's modding or creation capabilities, even your own, this early on, is a travesty. Practice makes perfect and all that jazz. With each new problem people have with what mods do, we all learn something to try and avoid in the future.

Second, between confirming Hall and that anti-flavour posts, I was not sure if the mods would be giving some hints if we got stuck. While there was righteous indignation in that post, if you read it again, you'd notice it's not directed at the mods. It was supposed to be a not so subtle warning that people need to be careful with what they say.

Third, that final post I made last night was made moments after your post, Nem, and maybe a minute after my previous post. If you'd check the timestamps, you can see that. However, the point still stands, if you're going to punish people for roleplaying, you might as well not ask us to try.

Onto game related things.

I was writing in haikus for two reasons. First, I was actually roleplaying. I expounded upon my role, using "hints" in the description. Next, I wanted to prove to people I could play without writing a single thesis. This was largely brought on by people saying "I was playing differently" last game. Yes, I can, and will, play differently. It won't be quite this drastic of a change, but it can be, if I need to.

However, with two other people playing "post restriction" it backed up my claim. I assume no more than one of them would be scum, because if one died as scum, the others two of us look bad.

I agree with both of Taz's votes. Shadow has been my number one choice. As a reply to an earlier comment, him not being backed up means not that he's probably townie. It means if he's mafia, the other mafia isn't going down with the ship. Taz's vote on me makes sense too. I was second to jump on the "post restriction" wagon.

Well, the main counter, beyond what I said earlier, would be a simple "math counter". The roman game took 49 minutes to send out approximately 11 messages. That's about 4.5 minutes a message. I responded 34 minutes after the "start time" of this game. That's 7 roles that have been sent out, supposing they take that long. Having all the mafia be a single message changes a few numbers, but leaves me with still at least 50% chance of having received one of the non-scum roles. 1 mafia, 1/2 3rd party, 6 total sent.

Next, you're assuming they didn't have flavour written up beforehand. The problem with this is that you had suggested they start writing the flavor, and Nem told you here (http://www.ibisgaming.com/forums/showthread.php/11071-Mafia-Game-BladeNem-productions?p=163997#post163997) that it was all set to go. This means they just had pick roles, send them to the right people and start the thread. There was 26 minutes between this post, (http://www.ibisgaming.com/forums/showthread.php/11071-Mafia-Game-BladeNem-productions?p=163999#post163999) confirming the game was full, and the start of the thread, suggesting they did this prep work. Since most of us voted in the poll sending things would be a case of: Find flavour in text file, copy, find name in poll. click name, click send PM, paste, hit send. I can't speak for anyone else, but I can do this in under a minute. They'd have to take at least 2.8 minutes per message if each one is singular, more than 3 minutes if the mafia is together.

If you want me to spout more than just math at you, let me know how you think I'd be able to prove myself.

I don't know if blade told people that they were doused in the last game since they ended up being dead fast ( some confirmation guys?) but one thing i know for sure, and it's the nemesis (who is taking control of this game as far as i heard) is the kind of person that asked me in the pokemon game if he would be notified if his bulletproof vest was worn off by an attack.

Can someone tell me something about the firefighter? If the firefighter watered down a person who is doused on night 2, is there a chance that this victim also burns on night 3 if the arson wanted to ignite more than 1 person together?
i.e is the firefighter protection ONLY for the night that person is ignited? or can it preemptively water me down if im doused? i wanna see if my chances of living through night 2-3 are gd or not...

The doctor cannot protect a cop from a fucking ARSONIST.
Having the cop claim this early is dead wrong because you'd be forcing BOTH the doctor AND the firefighter to limit their actions to the cop only... and that would not only restrain them, but would limit the suspect pool of who might be the protectors...
once one of them is dead (by mafia or arson) then the cop is surely dead since either the mafia takes him out (assuming doc dies) or arson takes him out (assuming firefighter dies)...
and with a small setup? having 1 of the 3 dying is almost guaranteed.

Besides, mafia doesn't have a reason to kill me as of yet... With an arson out, and a cop, doc and firefighter roles out on a setup of 10 ppl left... i doubt their choice would be to kill me as opposed to trying someone else... and that person might either be bulletproof or protected... so again, the odds are in our favor as long as the cop stays hidden.

arson isn't too common,and claiming to have been doused is surely dumb unless it actually happened:
a. if there's no arson, no firefighter, wtf is he doing? gotta be mafia...
b. claiming he was doused makes no sense usually...he'd know that, so claiming that would be pretty dumb.
c. there are only 3 ways we see that he would know there's an arson:
(1) he's a role cop, and inspected one or the other. but then he wouldn't have been able to confirm himself to me.
(2) he is the firefighter or the arson. which he isn't, because again, he wouldn't have been able to confirm himself to me.
(3) we are mafia, the arson is mafia (which as we've seen is a dumb idea) and i'm in cahoots with him.

Two reasons:

1.) Cyber was the one who mentioned both that he was whispering in Brett's asshole as well as being soaked in gasoline. I prefer to make sure that all things that people say/claim are never forgotten until proven true.

2.) Masskid claimed firefighter recently but I still entertain the idea that Cyber, Brett, and Masskid are all in league until more facts come in to prove this notion impossible. This is why I suggest the investigator to target Brett because that would prove with certainty that all 3 are town. I also find that the possibility of Brett being Godfather, therefore immune to investigations, distressing.

Although, the Cyber/Brett carnival of carnal pleasures does seem fishy, I'm still more worried about an Arsonist on the loose. Also, if our supposed "firefighter" doesn't give anymore fucks about this game, that leaves ALL of us open to conflagration on any given night. Now, even if Cyber is bullshitting about getting doused, I would rather look at the worst possible scenario in question.

1) Cyber is NOT truly confirmed Good Guy Greg, and Brett is simply covering for him. Leading all of us innocents to believe he's good, only to later on in the game find out he AND Brett aren't.
2) Allowing an Arsonist to continue his rampage by continuing to douse all of us one by one every night and having our "potential firefighter" modkilled TODAY, leaving him all the time he needs to burn us all to cinders as he sees fit.

Taking both scenarios into question, which do you all find to be worse?

Honestly, we have an idea of what/who Cyber and Brett are... we have NO idea what anyone else is. Hallwagner the Asshole? That gives us no idea on what his role really was. Masskid, might be the FireFighter. Blackmage? Jesus Christ, probably, but that's the only thing we really know for sure.
