Rolled for it. Vote Zambi
Just going to put this out there (taken from the meme mafia game):
Telling someone you're RVSing may be good to back yourself up when the accusations of 'why are you voting for this person' start coming in, but it lets the person you're voting for know that you have no kind of factual basis for your vote. It's not intimidating at all and I think it's counter-productive.
Random Voting Stage (RVS) is hugely productive where little to no information is available, Zambo. It helps move the game forward and can cause players to react in revealing ways.
That being said, once RVS is over and there is enough information to work with based off of player interactions, tells, claims, etc... that's when it's okay to say "Hey, this is not a random vote" but this is usually not necessary as it's evident when RVS is over.
4) Use admin privileges sparingly and appropriately.
And what I'm saying is that knowing the vote is random will evoke zero reaction (unless you're Cyber, but he writes essays on everything, so I don't think that counts).
I think the one rule for an RVS is that you really shouldn't announce it to the world. Whether or not people believe it's RVS when/if you do announce it is up to the them. Using fear to evoke a response is fine, but telling people what you're doing is counter-productive. Saying 'random vote: vote player a' simply won't work.
